This past Saturday a group of friends and I decided it would be so much fun to transport ourselves back in time 95 years or so. We traveled nine decades back from 2015 to 1920, albeit it for only one day.
At the annual Jazz Age Lawn Party on Governor's Island in NYC, the roaring twenties came roaring back to life with big band music, flapper and bohemian style wardrobes and all the elegant, interesting, and excessive elements that made the twenties such an iconic decade. With one slight difference that is, on this day refreshing St. Germain inspired cocktails were being sold freely and legally, prohibition need not apply in this recreation of the Era.
I made sure to document moments from that day from my point of view. Here they are for your viewing enjoyment.
My favorite part of the day was observing everybody's unique, colorful and creative costumes. Certain individuals looked like they had just stepped out of filming a Dowton Abbey episode. Quite delightful.
I may or may have not made an appearance myself :)
Such fun!
